How did geography influence how the Greeks treated each other? Due to the large desert and few water resources each Greek community hated the other because of the limited water resources. Due to the large valleys, Greek cities were close to each other and relied heavily on each other's goods. Due to the large rivers that separated each community, some Greek communities were independent of each other, some were very close. Due to the mountains and small islands, the Greek communities were independent of each other.
