1. y=0, t=-0.125 or t=1

y=0 means -16-2=0 or t-1=0, so t=-0.125 or t=1

 

2. The zeros tell us the case that the time when the beach ball drop on the ground( or beach). 

t=-0.125 is not meaningful because t represents time, t>0
